Expert Probate assistance
If you are searching for an experienced probate attorney, you have come to the right place. Our firm has handled probates that involved a single, local beneficiary and estates that have involved dozens of beneficiaries located all over the country. Our firm has represented personal representatives who live throughout Wisconsin and in states from Idaho to Georgia. We’ve handled estates with a single piece of real estate, and estates with millions of dollars and scores of different accounts.
If you are committed to settling a loved one’s estate the right way, we are here to help. We are not generalists. We handle only certain types of matters, and we handle them well. By focusing on our core areas, our probate attorneys and paralegals are able to provide a level of service and value that generalists simply can’t match.
We do not handle probate litigation matters. If you are a beneficiary and need representation because the personal representative is acting improperly in some way, or if you need an attorney to represent you in a challenge to the validity of a will or a dispute regarding suitability of a personal representative, you will need local counsel.
Available Statewide
Our main office is in Stevens Point, close to the center of the state. Many of our probates are still filed here in central Wisconsin. But we learned over the years that even when the decedent lived here, their child or other family member serving as personal representative often did not. We found ourselves representing more and more clients without meeting them in person, and developed a system to accommodate that.
We also began receiving more and more calls from families settling estates in underserved counties, particularly in the Northwoods, where finding an experienced, responsive probate attorney can be difficult.
We now provide probate assistance statewide, in all Wisconsin counties except Milwaukee.
Next day Consultation
All of our work begins with a no-obligation consultation via Zoom, typically available as soon as the next business day. During the consultation, you will learn:
Whether a probate is in fact necessary in your case.
How the probate process works in general, and how it will work in your situation.
What to expect for timelines, costs, and fees.
Specific steps to take now to get started.
There is no cost for the consultation. We ask only that you share a copy of any will with us ahead of time, and be ready to discuss the decedent’s family situation and assets during the meeting. When you schedule, our email confirmation will include more information on how to make the most of your meeting.
We will look forward to meeting you.
